This Privacy Policy explains what information Career Atlas ("we", "our", "the Service") collects when you use this application, how it is used, and how you can control it.

1. Who we are

2. Information we collect

We collect and store:

• Account information you provide (email, password - stored as a secure hash, never in plain text).
• Business profile information you enter (business description, services, prices, brand details, contact information).
• Facebook Page and Group information you connect, obtained via the Meta Graph API under permissions you explicitly grant (Page name, ID, posts, comments, reactions, reach and other insights).
• Content generated or uploaded through the Service (post drafts, images, marketplace listings).
• Basic technical logs needed to operate the Service (timestamps, action logs, error logs).

3. How we use this information

Information is used only to operate the Service on your behalf: generating and publishing content to the Facebook Pages you connect, reading and replying to comments, showing analytics, and improving the reliability of the Service. We do not sell your data.

4. Use of Meta/Facebook Platform Data

Data obtained through the Meta Graph API is used solely within this application to provide the features you request (publishing, comment management, analytics) and is handled in line with Meta's Platform Terms and Developer Policies. We do not use Meta Platform Data for advertising, and we do not share it with third parties except the service providers described below, strictly to operate the Service.

5. Third-party services we use

To generate content and images, the Service sends business-profile text (not your Facebook access tokens) to AI providers (such as Groq) and, when you choose to generate an image, an image-generation provider. These providers process the request to return generated text/images and do not receive your Facebook credentials.

6. Data storage and security

Data is stored in an encrypted, access-controlled database. Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text. Facebook access tokens are stored server-side only and are never exposed in frontend code. Access to the admin dashboard requires authentication (JWT) and is rate-limited to reduce abuse.

7. Data retention and deletion

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us at info@careeratlas.site. Upon request, we will delete your business data and disconnect any linked Facebook Pages within a reasonable timeframe.

8. Cookies and local storage

The dashboard uses browser local storage to keep you signed in and to remember interface preferences (such as sidebar state). This information stays on your device and is not sent to any third party.

9. Children's privacy

This Service is intended for business use by adults and is not directed at children under 18.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
